We welcome Olivia Gulino, who began serving as the new Associate Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry on July 5, 2017.
Olivia is from Baton Rouge, having attended St. Jude Elementary School and St. Joseph’s Academy. After graduation, Olivia moved to Texas and obtained an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Dallas. She then enrolled in Notre Dame Seminary Graduate School of Theology in New Orleans, completed a program for laity, and received a Master of Arts in Theological Study degree.
Olivia’s formative years gave rise to many diverse opportunities of faith formation, service events and leadership development. Peer leadership training, ministry program development, large event planning and implementation, March for Life involvement, Catholic Radio producing, and numerous others experiences have contributed to Olivia’s passion for evangelization and service to others.
Olivia explains, “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Diocese in this ministry. Every day my renewed goal will be to make apparent the Lord’s invitation to encounter Him, to “allure [us], and bring [us] into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to [us]” (Hosea 2:14). My hope is that my service in youth and young adult ministry will facilitate that journey from the head to the heart, that a growth in knowledge of our Lord and His Church will incite a joy in our hearts to serve him well.”
We are blessed to have Olivia join the team!
We ask for your prayers as we strive to continue of the work of evangelization and catechesis through Youth and Young Adult Ministry. May our efforts be filled with the joy of the Gospel, led by the Holy Spirit and centered on Christ for the glory of God.
Peace,
Dina D. Dow, M.A.
Director of Evangelization & Catechesis
