This week we will be advancing the way we do our Catechist Disciple Study Group. Currently we are studying the General Directory for Catechesis. We do it in an online seminar format. This is a unique way to engage in this study and formation because we can all join from different parts of the Diocese.
Starting this week our online our online seminar will be viewable Live to anybody through our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/evangcatbr/ at 10am Tuesday. We meet every week unless we take a day off for holidays.
This means that anyone can join simply by watching, commenting, and asking questions on Facebook. However, I want to reach out and ask for volunteers to be panelists each week. A panelist is a clergyman or parish catechetical leader/lay minister who has valuable experience to share and can add to the discussion. It is not necessary for the panelist to have participated every week, only be willing to share on that particular topic in the General Directory for Catechesis that particular week.
It is very easy to be a panelist, you can do it from your phone, tablet, or laptop, anything with a camera and a mic.
Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like to be a panelist for a topic (you don’t need to be an expert on the topic, only willing to share your experience with it). Regular panelists are Mark Christian from St. Aloysius, Dina Dow – Director of Office of E & C, Shannon Baldridge – Coordinator of Catechetical Certification, and I am the host.
If you would like to be added to the Flocknote group for this ongoing catechetical formation please fill out the form below. We will likely focus on Evangelii Nuntiandi as our next text. You can join this study at any time.
And don’t forget, we are on at 10am tomorrow! We will be focusing on §53-57 from the General Directory for Catechesis, on the role of conversion (metanoia) in evangelization.
