Msgr. Michael Clay, associate professor of pastoral theology at The Catholic University of America, is our presenter.  He has given workshops on the R.C.I.A. to over 75 dioceses in the U.S. and Canada and presented Part I of this series last December.  You will find the time with him to be energizing, insightful, and very practical.

Msgr. Clay will continue with Part II of  RCIA for the 21st Century:  A Stronger Vision and a More Effective Approach series by exploring the critical first period of the process, the Period of Evangelization and Pre-Catechumenate.

The method demonstrated has been shown to impact the lives inquirers deeply and help catechists build on a firmer foundation for the formation that follows until inquirers are initiated. Participants will see the method demonstrated and will be trained in how to use it.

Studies show that nearly 50% of those initiated through the R.C.I.A. no longer practice their faith five years after initiation. Other studies show that the commonly used religious education model contributes to the problem. A deeper understanding of the vision of initiation catechesis and some practical training in contemporary methods can turn these statistics around so the impact of the catechesis is deeper and enduring.

We invite you to be part of this experience as grow in wisdom of the RCIA Journey into the Catholic Church.
